On this site, you will find various writings from me over the years covering a wide range of topics, view points and opinions.
I am an Oregon native, and currently work as a Multimedia Specialist for the Oregon Office of Private Health Partnerships. I have been involved in my community in many areas, including previous service on the Silverton City Council. I am a veteran of the Armed Services, having served four years in the United States Navy. Currently, I am an active member in the Silverton Grange, and serve as Lecturer for that organization. I am also a Fellow in the current Ford Family Leadership Cadre for Silverton.
My professional background includes working as a graphic artist, animationist, filmmaker and photographer. I am greatly interested in the history of Oregon in general and Silverton in particular. Not just human history, but natural history as well. Especially in regards to local geologic processes, and how they have shaped the land we live with. And of course, how we as a society interact with this environment is high on my interest list.
As long-time Mars enthusiast, I continue to be fascinated with many of the geologic analogs to the Red Planet I have seen here, in the Northwest, most notably with lava tube caves and similar volcanic features. I have participated in both the Mars Global Surveyor and current Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter public target programs, and have had several of my targets imaged by these Martian cameras.
I currently live in Silverton, Oregon with my cat and an extensive 78 rpm record collection.
